Another alternative to the 12 inch trike is the 12 inch bicycle. These are great for the kid that you know will be ripping around on their bike in no time. These are also more common when their are two children as you can buy this one for the younger child. What typically happens is the older child learns on the tricycle, has fun and eventually grows out of it into a bike. The younger child see his/her older brother/daughter riding a bike and wants to ride that instead of trike.
